The secret was out!!!
We closed the doors on our little bandstand home on Sunday 27th April, a year and a day from our opening. John had been our first ever customer on that day, and In a perfect full-circle moment small business champions. and now firm friends, John and Birgy were our final customers too.

In April we celebrated our first birthday with cards and cakes and visits from all of our favourite people.

In march, Jude started dropping hints about a very BIG secret.

What's this???

Although it was a squash and a squeeze we were THRILLED to stock world book day books and welcome lots of new young customers into the shop to spend their tokens.

I was delighted to open the shop especially for Nightingale Community college to ensure that they could spend their World Book Day vouchers in a calm environment,

In February, we were invited to Tooting library to join in the launch event for the third volume in Ramzee's Cheat Book trilogy. What a splendid man he is.

A (mostly) friendly swamp witch joined us for Halloween to give out books and sweet treats.

The Mad Woman briefly escaped the attic and was seen walking, barefoot, around Merton Abbey Mills on Halloween. She seemed to feel most at home in our bookshop!

Lovely children's author Lucy Hope visited the shop to sign copies of her brilliant middle grade novels Fledgling and Wren.

The Mayor of Merton dropped in to offer us his support.
